Description

VAGF call for 2D hanging artwork for The Platform partner gallery (new residential building in Frisco Rail District). Theme: Geometric/Architectural/Abstract (optional focus color: Forest Green). Categories: Painting, Drawing, Photography, Mixed Media. VAGF members only. Up to 5 JPEG submissions (fee $10 for first 3; $2 each additional for up to 2 more). Works must be 16"x16" minimum and 60" maximum (each dimension) not including frame; value $100–$1,000; some works may be purchased for permanent placement, others for rotating gallery.

EXTENDED DEADLINE. Host: Visual Arts Guild of Frisco. Partner gallery: The Platform, residential building (still under construction) in the heart of the Rail District in Frisco at 2nd and Oak St, developed and owned by CAP Multifamily. Submission: VAGF members only (non-members may join VAGF online prior to submission). Submit up to five images as JPEG. Submission fee: $10.00 for first 3 images; option to purchase two more submissions for an additional total of $4.00 ($2 per additional entry). Theme: Geometric/Architectural/Abstract; optional focus color Forest Green. Media/categories: Painting, Drawing, Photography, Mixed Media; all works must be the original concept of the artist. Artwork requirements: 2D hanging artworks only; size at least 16" x 16" and up to 60" maximum (each dimension at least 16 inches and no more than 60 inches; NOT including the frame). Include BIO and Artist Statement guidelines: BIO is condensed third person summary, one paragraph, no more than 50 words; Artist Statement first person, up to 3 paragraphs, up to 250 words. Sales: some artworks may be purchased for permanent decoration; other artwork may be included in rotating art gallery. Purchase transactions handled by VAGF; VAGF retains 20% donation commission from all sales generated through the show. Value: at least $100 and maximum $1,000. Deadline/notification: (EXTENDED) submission deadline April 8, 2026. Artists notified of purchase offer or acceptance by April 15, 2026. Delivery: accepted artworks (permanent placement and rotating showcase) must be delivered to The Platform building at 2nd and Oak St on Sunday, May 3, 2026, between 12:00 p.m.–2:00 p.m. Failure to bring artwork during drop-off time results in exclusion. Pickup: rotating gallery accepted artwork pickup date to be announced with acceptance email; estimated duration of exhibition is 4 months; dates subject to change due to construction. Failure to pick up during pickup time (once announced) will result in storage fees of $25 per day starting with the pickup day. Meet the Artists event: will be scheduled later. Hanging/framing: ready-to-hang with wire taut at the upper fourth of the frame; saw hook hanging not accepted. Works on 1/2"–1" canvases should be framed. Works on 1 1/2"–2" canvases need neatly painted edges if not framed. Calendar invites: artists accepted receive calendar invites from vagfsuggestions@gmail.com. Removal restriction: artwork must stay in all VAGF exhibitions until pickup time on pickup day and must be signed out; removal without written permission by VAGF board member may incur significant penalties; emergencies/changes must be communicated to info@vagf.org.
