Description
Annual members-only spring exhibition and sale themed 'Seeing Red' at the Collin County History Museum. Open to current Art Club of McKinney members in good standing; includes 2D and 3D categories and public viewing during museum hours.
Notes
Free and open to the public during regular operating hours on Friday, March 27, 2026 and Saturday, March 28, 2026. Exhibition title/theme is 'Seeing Red' and artists should incorporate a subtle or bold touch of red. Submission deadline: Friday, March 20, 2026 at 11:59 PM CST. Art drop-off at Collin County History Museum on Thursday, March 26, 2026 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Mixer: Friday, March 27, 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Artist Reception & Awards Program: Saturday, March 28, 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Art pick-up: Sunday, March 29, 2026 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM. Entry fee is $25 for one entry or $35 for two entries, payable upon submission. Submission is limited to two works per member. Submit online at https://pci.jotform.com/form/253394334813156. Eligible works must be original and not previously entered in past Art Club-sponsored shows. No wet artwork accepted. 2D artwork must be framed and securely wired; canvas works do not need to be framed but must be wired. No saw-toothed hangers or non-wired works. 2D artwork must not exceed 18 x 24 inches framed; oversized work requires prior approval from Cindy Luvender, Show Chair, cindyluvender@gmail.com. 3D artwork must be stable and self-supporting or wired for hanging, and combined dimensions (height + width + depth) must not exceed 70 inches. Labels must be complete and attached before drop-off. Works may be priced for sale; sales are between artist and buyer, and artists must include contact information if for sale. Sold work must remain on display for the full exhibition, and pre-sold work must still hang for the duration. Artist is responsible for reporting sales tax to the State of Texas. Late pickup may incur a $10/day charge. Judges are Cathy Cotter-Smith, Barbara Bell Dubovsky, and Patrick Michael Reeves; optional judge feedback is available on the entry form. Awards include Best in Show ($125), First Place ($100), Second Place ($75), and Third Place ($50), plus ribbons, with category awards dependent on number of entries.
